As I sit here tonight instant messaging my best friend I have Animal Plant the TV. Another heart breaking episode of Animal Cops is on and all I want to do is cry. I don’t know why I even watch these shows, perhaps I just long for the happy ending for all these beloved pets that they rescue and find true forever home.
Like all my critters here, 19 in all, I feel they are all part of my family and in my house, well that is except my two ducks. Sure some would think that’s a lot of critter in the house, but not me. Having a pet in your home is not only comforting, it is entertaining. I couldn’t imagine my home without multiple pets, as much as there are times when they can be very noisy, it’s just who they are. They are ALWAYS happy to greet me, it could be something as simple as a quick trip outside or after I’m gone all day at work, it doesn’t matter. No matter the length of time, they are very happy to see me on my return, unconditionally, no matter what.
How anyone could not be deeply touched by such affection is beyond me. I guess that comes with the fact that I AM A TOTAL CRITTER PERSON.
So I can’t help but ask why do you have a pet to just leave it outside to be exposed to the elements, which are subject to fleas, ticks and mosquitoes, day and night? Plus some of you even leave them outside with out food, water or shelter.
Why, I ask, are they not in your house and part of the family?
If you don’t plan on caring for their needs, why did you get them in the first place?
They are a LIVING breathing life.
What’s with that?
